We have a 30,000 gallon custom pool with rock features, fire island and reef entry. It is an EcoSystem pool that uses CO2 and copper ionization to maintain for a fresh water feel without salt or chlorine. We have a Hayward 4-wheel suction side unit that is typically in the pool every day along with a Betta solar powered surface skimmer. We supplement that cleaning with a Beatbot robot that we typically would use once or twice per week depending upon how dirty the pool was.

We decided to join the Beta test as we had been pleased with the Beatbot that we already had and were desirous of trying to help improve the next generation product they introduced. We have had another brand of robot in the past but replaced it with the Beatbot. Our pool has its unique challenges from its design and we were excited to see how this new unit would work and to give feedback that could shape its final design. To give it its best review we removed all of our supplemental cleaning equipment from the pool that we typically employ during the duration of the test.

The X was very well packaged. I was impressed by how well the unit was protected during shipping and how relatively easy it was to set up. Hey everyone, beta testing the new Beatbot AquaSense X here. As an AquaSense 2 Ultra user I am familiar with the robot performance, I threw this new model into a covered winter pool full of leaves to see what it could do.

The robot itself? Fantastic. By the second run, the floor was crystal clear—exactly the quality I expect from the Ultra line.

The new self-cleaning station is a cool concept that gets the basket 99% clean , but it still has beta growing pains. During my extreme winter leaf test, the station struggled with water flow and splashed/leaked. It handled a standard daily load perfectly with zero leaks , but there are a few Wi-Fi pairing quirks to iron out.

TL;DR: The cleaning power is undeniable, but the station needs a bit of refinement. Awesome to see the team actively listening to feedback!

I was also one of the few selected to test out Beatbot's new AquaSense X pool robots and I'll share with you an open and honest review of what I've experienced so far:

My first impression of the Beatbot AquaSense X was very positive. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the overall build quality and design. The unit feels well constructed, solid, and has a very sleek, modern look. Everything needed to get started was included in the package.

Setup was straightforward. The instructions were clearly laid out, with minor clarifications needed, and I had no issues connecting the unit to Wi-Fi, pairing it with the AstroRinse cleaning station, and completing the initial charge. From there, I moved the system to my pool area and connected the water source to the rinse station. The entire process was simple, as long as you follow the instructions (which, for some like me can be a challenge 😀.)

We live in an area surrounded by trees, so leaves and debris are a constant issue in our pool. For the first cleaning cycle, I selected Pro Mode, which cleans the floor, walls, and surface. The AquaSense X stayed in the pool for just under six hours and did an impressive job overall. The before-and-after difference was very noticeable — the pool looked significantly cleaner. I did notice a couple of leaves remaining on the surface and bottom, but given our environment, it’s very possible those fell in during the cleaning process rather than being missed by the unit.

Once the cleaning…

Yes, Beatbot X cleans the pool great... but the fact that it cleans itself might be the best part. Not only does it keep the pool looking good, but with the X, I don't even have to mess with the basket anymore. No messy spraying needed. I just pull the robot out of the pool, set it on the base, and it takes care of the rest.

I'll be honest, at first I wasn't sure that feature was worth it. I figured I've got a hose right there, I can clean a basket, no big deal.

But then I had to go back to doing it the old way... and yeah, I missed it immediately.

It's one of those things you don't think you need until you have it. Then you realize how nice it is to not deal with it every single time.

It just goes back on the charger and the cleaning station handles everything. I don't even have to think about it.

If you've got a pool, this is one of those upgrades you don't realize you need until you have it.
